Hayward Tyler’s contract covers variable drive booster pumps whereas Energy Steel will provide 62 solenoid valve and cubicle packages.
The ITER venture is a joint international analysis and improvement project to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. The demonstration facility is under building in St-Paul-lez-Durance in France, and would be the largest fusion experimental reactor on the planet.
Hayward Tyler’s booster pumps might be an integral part of the drying system for the Tokamak Cooling Water System (TCWS). The pumps shall be designed, built and tested at Hayward Tyler Inc in Colchester, Vermont, USA.
Hayward Tyler and Energy Steel are each part of the Engineered Pumps and Motors Division of Avingtrans plc.
“We are elated that two of our firms can provide merchandise that will contribute to this formidable challenge,” mentioned Mike Turmelle, managing director of Avingtrans’ Engineered Pumps and Motors Division. “We’re dedicated and proud to contribute to the superior nuclear business.” These contracts observe previous awards that ITER has made to Avingtrans’ Engineered Pumps and Motors Division.
